Joseph “Joe” Richardson, age 54, died on May 15th, 2024 with his loved ones by his side, after a long and arduous battle against cancer. Joe was born in Oregon in 1969, he moved with his family to Colorado at the age of 13. He graduated from Heritage High school in Littleton in 1987. He would go on to become one of the best truck drivers in the field, being able to handle an 18-wheeler as if it was a normal sized sedan. Later he would become a supervisor to his fellow drivers, who respected and appreciated his experience and wisdom in the field.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors, he was most happy when camping, hiking, fishing, and most recently four wheeling. He was nicknamed “buggy Joe” by some of his four wheeling friends due to the ease with which he handled the terrain. He was a loyal and caring friend, always extending a hand to people in need. Joe’s true passion, however, was being a father to his sons. He loved spending time with them and imparting fatherly wisdom, sometimes in the form of horrible “dad” jokes.
Joe is survived by his wife Rosy (M. 1996), his sons Liam (25) and Ewan (21), his sisters Nicole and Jacqueline, his brothers Justin, Sean and David and his father Kenneth. He was preceded in death by his mother Linda.
Joe did not wish to have a funeral or memorial service, he will be cremated on May 28th, 2024 at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora CO 80014 with his immediate family by his side. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
