Joseph Montoya, age 59, passed at his home, Denver, CO on June 07, 2023 after a long battle with Diabetes. He was raised in Colorado Springs, CO, was a high school graduate of Mitchell High School and served in the United States Air Force 1982 – 1986. He met his wife, Diane, in Denver in 1986 and they married 3 years later, had children, Sarah, Joseph, and deceased LCPL Angelo Montoya.
Joe worked at COORs Aluminum Mill, various warehouse jobs up and down the Front Range within Colorado, Home Depot, Air Care Colorado. He volunteered at Montbello and Adams City High School wrestling events, St. Pius Catholic School lunch room, Colorado Rockies and various other sporting events. He loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and his children with all his heart and soul. He enjoyed and loved dancing, making people laugh, Joe did not speak Spanish, however, faithfully listened to Cancion Mexicana every Sunday. He was passionate about his Catholic faith and his mother.
Joe is survived by four Sisters Louise, Judi, Mary, Mona, their spouses and one sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and six grandchildren. He has two deceased brothers, Alfred and Richard, as well as countless friends and family within California, Colorado, Kentucky, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
Flowers can be sent to the church the morning of the funeral to St. Pius Catholic Parish 13670 E. 13th Place Aurora, CO 80011. Before or after the funeral service the family requests cards be sent to 4903 Altura Street, Denver, CO 80239.
