Joseph "Joe" Henry Kidd, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Littleton, Colorado, on March 22, 2026, surrounded by family members. Joe was born in Lakewood, Colorado, on September 9, 1938, to Jack and Alice (Snook) Kidd. He grew up in a loving family, spending summer weekends boating and fishing at Granby Lake. He continued the tradition as an adult, incorporating water skiing in the mix closer to home. Joe participated in athletics and school government at Alameda High School, where he graduated in 1957. He continued his education at Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. Though he did not earn his degree, he used his education to run the warehouse and trucking business he grew and operated for nearly 40 years, employing as many as 50 people. Mr. Kidd was a member of the Colorado Warehouseman's Association and served as president of the Denver Traffic Club. He employed many family members in the business, sharing with them his good work ethics and the joy of being your own boss.

Joe and Sharon Nelson were married in 1961; thus, she became his first employee when he established the business in 1963. Though the marriage did not last, they produced two beautiful daughters and had many good years together. Joe married Janet Hickerson on Valentine's Day in 1981 and together they enjoyed 45 years of marriage. When Joe sold the business in 2002, she was also an employee and they retired together. They saw many parts of the country while traveling in their motor home, finding a perfect spot in Mesquite, Nevada, to become snowbirds where they spent winters golfing and making wonderful new friends. Summers were spent golfing in Denver and with family and old friends. As Joe's health declined, the last few years were spent in Denver with family,

Besides golf, Joe enjoyed fishing and water skiing, bowling, trap shooting, snow skiing, and going to Broncos games. He loved his friends, being a father and a grandfather, and was a wonderful husband. He had a big heart and helped friends, family and employees when we saw they were in need.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife Janet, his two daughters, Kim (Chris) Spelic and Kelly (Todd) Swickard, his stepdaughter Cindy (Randy) Sheets, as well as his six grandchildren, Jennifer Ribble, Justin Spelic, Amber Spelic, Briana Spelic, Jade Swickard and Wesly Swickard, and two great grandchildren, Eli Ribble and Peyton Ribble. He is also survived by a niece and a nephew. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Joyce, and his ex-wife Sharon
