Joseph C. ""Chuck"" Dole

Joseph Charles Dole was born February 28, 1928 in Denver, CO. He graduated with a BS Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado. His college was partially funded by the army where he was a M.P. in Germany after WWII. He met & married Paulene Anne Kraybill, February 5, 1955. They had a 2-for-1 pregnancy with Ken & Ernie. Dave came three years later. His professional career was almost exclusively with Martin Marietta. Chuck often said he rose through the ranks of Martin because, ?I was the only one small enough to fit in the rocket.? However almost assuredly he progressed based on talent & hard work. Highlights of his professional career include being a flight controller for the Viking probe that landed on Mars in 1976, working with the French equivalent of NASA, and multiple projects he could not discuss outside of work. He was a great husband, a great father and a great role model to all he knew. He is survived by his wife, Polly, their son Ken & wife Monica, and their daughter Diana; their son Ernie, his wife Pat, their daughters Erin, husband Ricky, & their children Leah & Tristan, and Val, her partner, John; their son Dave, his wife Vikki, & their sons Zach and Jason.
