Joseph Defrancesco, Jr.

Joseph Anthony DeFrancesco, Jr. was born to Christina Sherry and Joseph Anthony DeFranceso Sr., in Denville, New Jersey on August 11, 1979.  He grew up in Sparta, New Jersey and graduated from Sparta High School in 1998.  He moved with his family to Denver, Colorado in 2011.

Joey was blessed with a loving family.  He married his best friend, Cheryln on October 29, 2009.  Joey and Cheryln have three beautiful children, Tori (16), Lili (8) and Louis (4).  They enjoyed many adventures together as a family, including a recent trip to Disney World in September.  Joey loved the outdoors and was an avid biker, skier and hiker.  He felt most alive being in nature and exploring the many parks in and around Denver. In recent years, Joey enjoyed cultivating his artistic talent and loved to paint.  He truly had a gift.

Joey was charismatic and never met a stranger.  His distinct laugh could be identified anywhere.  Joey was a professional server and was blessed to work in some of the best restaurants in Denver, including his present position at The Four Seasons of Denver.

Joey is survived by his wife, Cheryln; his daughters, Tori Alyssa and Liliana Sherry; and son, Louis James; his mother, Christina Sherry of Charlotte, NC, his father, Joseph DeFrancesco of Morristown, NJ, his sisters, Jaimee Adams of Charlotte, NC, Jenn Faitoute of Matthews, NC, and Jill Weiss of Sparta, New Jersey, his mother-in-law, Rosemarie Allen of Denver, CO, his brother-in-laws, Raymond Allen of Denver, CO, John Adams of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Faitoute of Matthews, NC, and Brian Weiss of Sparta, NJ.  Joey is also survived by six beautiful nieces and nephews, Brianna, Caroline, Macy, Charlotte, Finn and Jimmy.  Joey has many aunts, uncles, and cousins who he was very close to.  He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Joey was predeceased by his grandparents, Salvadore and Mildred DeFrancesco, and Gerard and Dorothy Sherry, as well as, his uncle and godfather, Peter Gerard Sherry and childhood best friend, James Albrecht.

The Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 from 4-6 pm at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. The Funeral Service to celebrate Joey’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 10:00 am, with a Rosary beginning at 9:30am at Horan & McConaty, 5305 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. Burial with follow in Seven Stones Cemetery, Littleton, CO.
