Joni Murphy

Joni Murphy, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Burlington, Colorado. She was born on June 27, 1966, in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania, to the late John Lang and Josephine (Pregano) Lang.

Joni was raised in Northglenn, Colorado, where she graduated from Northglenn High School in 1984. After high school, she began working at Hunter Douglas, where she met Keith Murphy. They were married for many years and raised a family together.

Later in life, Joni proudly served as a clerk with the United States Postal Service, dedicating many years to her work. Her strong work ethic, kind heart, and warm personality left a lasting impression on her colleagues and everyone she served in her community.

Family was at the heart of everything Joni did. She was a talented artist and passionate seamstress who loved sharing her creativity with her grandchildren. Teaching them to make things by hand brought her immense joy and pride.

Joni is survived by her loving children: Kristen Lang (Michael Dillan) of Wheatland, Wyoming; Matthew Murphy (Tabitha Price) of Thornton, Colorado; and Shannon Finch (John-Michael Finch). She was a devoted grandmother to Rylie, Blakley Grace, John-Michael, Donovan, and Allison.

She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Lang of Colorado and Josie Tullio (Chris Tullio) of Richlands, North Carolina, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Lang Sr., and her brother, John Lang Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery – Highland, located at 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. The service will take place outdoors, with beautiful weather expected.
