John, known as "Gaumey" age 52, died on June 2, 2007. He is survived by his mother, Eliza; siblings Joaquinita, Pete (Rachel), Joaquin (Mary Jo), Ray; nephew Bryan (Krystyna); nieces Lisa and Rebecca Castro; grand-niece Charlotte. He is also survived by his life partner Bill Gutierez. Private services were held.
