John F. Sholl Jr., 61, of Englewood, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2025.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to John F. Sholl Sr. and Maryann Whelan Sholl, John grew up with three siblings—Joy Jones and William (Bill) Sholl, who preceded him in death, and his surviving brother David Sholl.
John discovered his lifelong passion for jewelry in a high school metalsmith class. That spark led him to become a Graduate Gemologist (GIA) and an exceptionally skilled platinumsmith and goldsmith. In 2000, he opened JF Sholl Fine Jewelry in downtown Littleton, where his artistry and integrity earned the trust of generations. Known for his meticulous eye and mastery of fundamentals, John often joked that the “hardest job in the world is figuring out what a woman wants—with jewelry,” a reflection of his humor and dedication to delighting his clients.
He loved to say that he found two great loves early in life: his craft and his former spouse, Jennifer Sholl, his high school sweetheart, and business partner, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage. Together they raised three children: Andrea Miller (Luke), 32; Mary Sholl, 30; and Nathan Sholl, 27.
Beyond the jewelry bench, John loved the outdoors and hiking, shared his music generously, and was known for his quick wit—always ready with a joke to break the ice and bring a smile.
