In Loving Memory of John Felix Sarmiento, Sr.
John Felix Sarmiento, Sr., passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on May 16, 1948, in Florence, Colorado, where his life’s journey began.
John met the love of his life, Patricia, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Together they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family. Their marriage was a testament to enduring devotion, and John took great pride in providing for his wife and family throughout his life.
John answered the call to serve his country after being drafted into the United States Army. He carried with him a strong work ethic, resilience, and quiet determination that defined the way he lived and cared for those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rita Carter and Dionisio Sarmiento.
John is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Sarmiento; his children; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings; and countless extended family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
Those who knew John will remember his quick wit, sense of humor, remarkable intelligence, and love of cooking. More than anything, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and provider who always put his family’s needs before his own. His greatest joy came from caring for those he loved, especially his beloved wife.
John also had a gift for storytelling. Whether sharing memories from his childhood, his time in the Army, or the adventures and lessons of everyday life, he had a way of captivating everyone around him. His stories, humor, and wisdom will continue to be shared for generations, keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of all who knew him.
Though our hearts are heavy with his passing, we take comfort in the many memories he leaves behind and in the lasting legacy of love, strength, and dedication he gave to his family. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
