John Putzstuck Sr., age 90, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 2, 1935, on a farm near Laverne, Iowa.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He went on to dedicate many years of service to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal and Rocky Flats.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne; his sons, John (Tammy) Putzstuck, Scott Putzstuck and Brad Putzstuck; his grandchildren, Sabrina (D’Nae) Flanagan, Brett (Ashley) Putzstuck and his great-grandchildren, Grace Flanagan, Avery and Olivia Putzstuck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Helen Putzstuck; seven siblings: Kathryn Putzstuck, James Putzstuck, Jean Putzstuck, Marjorie Putzstuck, Alice Putzstuck, Joseph Putzstuck, and Gerald Putzstuck; and his granddaughter, Jessica Putzstuck.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Arvada, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in John’s honor.
John will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast presence, and deep devotion to his faith, his family, and his country — as well as his willing and very capable hands to build and repair anything set in front of him, including the home he raised his family in. Few have shown the depth of patience and kindness that he carried so effortlessly. He will be tremendously missed for the rest of forever.
