John Maher Poplin, Jr.

John Maher Poplin Jr., 74, of Aurora, Colorado passed away at his home on May 16, 2026. John was born in Portsmouth, VA to John M. Poplin. Sr. and Peggy Barnes Poplin.

John graduated from Ahoskie High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1975. He was trained in Precision Measurement Electronics and had a career in electronics and computer technology.

John married Jayne Paul, in 1972 in Ahoskie, NC. They had two sons, John Edward and Christopher Paul. John enjoyed bicycling, fishing and hunting.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Peggy and son John Edward.

He is survived by his wife Jayne, son Christopher, grandson Alexander, sisters Katharyn Poplin, Patricia Piland and Maria Poplin, several nephews and nieces as well as a grand niece and a grand nephew.
