John B. Ortega- Musket

July 23, 1937 — April 29, 2025

Westminster

John was a great son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

He is survived by his baby sister Priscilla who he nicknamed Jader. They were the last of the siblings and had a very special love which they both contribute to their mom who raised them all with a great love.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, (one of them his twin), many nieces, nephews and friends.

John will be remembered for making people laugh. He loved to tell jokes and would hilariously climb the baseball fence to catch a ball.

Johns accomplishments were many, He was an author, he wrote and published his own book, inventor with a great mind, actor and musician who could play any instrument and sing without using notes. He was a chef who owned his own restaurant. He was an artist and painted many paintings-all of them named after his own experiences and feelings. He also prided himself in being a " Curandero" (healer) using his own remedies or those he learned from his mom, He would say that she was the most beautiful woman who helped heal neighbors and friends. She would never accept money so the people she cured would bring food to help her out since she raised 15 children when her husband died.

John served in the United States Army and graduated with a Bachelors in Science which he successfully used helping people with addictions through his own personalized counseling.

John once said that he wanted people to remember who he Truly was after recovering from his addictions.

In his book he writes, "I've been through many rainstorms and now I'm enjoying the smell of warm earth after the storm and still dreaming if one day, I'll catch a rainbow. What would that be like?"

Did you catch your rainbow Musket?

Rest in peace, you will always be remembered and missed dearly.
