John Langan

July 29, 1962 — April 15, 2023

John Paul Langan, age 60, of Denver, CO was born in Cincinnati, OH to Jack and Marie Langan on July 29th, 1962. They moved to Ann Arbor, MI, then landed permanently in Exton, PA where he would become a big brother to his sisters, Karen and Cathleen. He would also meet his lifelong friends, develop his passions for the outdoors and adventure, archeology, history and start his first company; S & L Driveway Sealing. He was a graduate of Allentown college with a bachelor’s in psychology and would discover another passion for music, specifically the Grateful Dead.

He began his work career in the textile industry at Schoeller chemical near York, PA.  as their northeast territory sales rep and began a life-long journey to follow the Grateful Dead on 78 shows. He met and married Pam in 1988, they welcomed Emily Marie September of 1994 and Molly Elizabeth January of 1998. They resided in Hellam, PA where he painstakingly restored their 180-year-old farmhouse back to its original glory. Then moved to Mooresville, NC in 1999 where he became the captain of his boat the “Playstation” on Lake Norman also was on the HOA board. Looking for greener pastures in his work life, he decided to try his hand at packaging and worked for Triad. He met a neighbor whose next step in his company at Stephen Gould was to take over the Denver office which happened in 2004. John and family moved to Conifer, CO and he started at Stephen Gould as a packaging engineer. He was thrilled with all new adventures Colorado had to offer, fly fishing, skiing and best of all Red Rocks where he volunteered with the Friends of Red Rocks.

He parted ways with Pam and ended up moving to Denver in 2007 when his packaging engineer career took off. He met Sarah, the love of his life, at Charlie Browns piano bar and they married in 2013. They both had a love of classic cars, traveled to see car shows and visit car museums. John was the proud owner of a 1923 Durant automobile featured in Denver’s Fourney Transportation museum. They also enjoyed American history, jam band music festivals, exploring new places together and most recent, golfing.

He is survived by his mother Marie Langan, his wife Sarah and children Emily and Molly. His sister Cathleen and brother-in-law John Callaway, sister Karen and brother-in-law Don Lane.  Nieces; Anne, Allison, Juliet, and Kristen. His nephews Ryan and Jack. He was preceded in death by his father Jack.

The service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 10am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 E. 7th Ave Pkwy, Denver, Colorado 80206.
