John N Hicks was born April 5, 1946 in Ada, Oklahoma – passed, June 26, 2024 in Arvada, Colorado at the age of 78.
John will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his legacy of love, laughter, and passion for fishing will live on forever. As he rests in the promise of eternal life, may his spirit continue to fish in the great waters beyond, forever at peace. Rest easy, John, a true master fisherman and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
John's life was a colorful tapestry of diverse experiences that shaped him into the resilient and resourceful individual he was. His time serving in the US Navy not only instilled in him a sense of duty and honor, but also provided him with valuable skills in HVAC field that he would later use to establish his thriving business.
John's journey to success was far from typical. In his youth, he tried his hand at various odd jobs, from fur trapping in the wilderness to hustling as a pool shark in dimly lit bars. It was his passion for garage sales and antiques that finally set him on the path to his final entrepreneurship. What started as a hobby soon blossomed into a thriving business, thanks to his keen eye for hidden treasures and his knack for turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. These experiences not only taught him the value of hard work and adaptability, but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for the unpredictability of life.
Through it all, John remained dedicated to carving out his own path and forging his own destiny. His entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with his diverse skill set, enabled him to overcome any challenge that came his way. And as he looked back on his life, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in all that he had achieved.
