Joan G. Disborough, 82, of Golden, Colorado passed away in her home on June 30, 2015. Joan is preceded in death by husband Edwin Disborough, stepson Jon Disborough and first husband John W. Purvis Jr. She is survived by son John W. (Pam) Purvis III, Lakewood, CO; daughter Debi (Dutch) Squires, Lakewood, CO; son Robert (Teri) Purvis, Brighton, CO; daughter Ann (Charlie) Fredericks, Nashville, TN and sister Ann Durrant, Ft. Myers, FL. Her grandchildren are Alisa (Tony) Matteoni of Overland, Park, KS; John W. (Stephanie) Purvis of Arroyo Grande, CA; James (Kyra) Purvis of Huntington Beach, CA; Becky (Donny) Legge of Redmond, WA; Justin Squires of Denver, CO; Nina, Dodi, Caroline and Anna Fredericks of Nashville, TN. Joan has 10 great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends who will miss her. Joan was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 30, 1932, and was the daughter of Robert L. Glover and Harriet Tillinghast. Joan has one sister Ann, who is now living in Florida. She married John W. Purvis Jr. and moved throughout the United States, living mostly in California with him and their three children before his death in 1968. She married Edwin Disborough and moved to Golden, CO shortly after their union. They lived in Golden, CO for most of their married life. Joan was a homemaker, an artist (oil painter), and a lover of the Colorado mountains. She loved her view of the Rocky Mountains from her deck, and was proud of the log cabin she and Edwin built together in Golden.
