Jesse Judson Porter, Jr, 85, passed on Sunday, September, 7, 2014, at his home in Denver, CO. Jesse, aka ""Jud"" was born in 1929 in Imperial Co, California and lived in Texas during the first part of his life. He served in the Army during the Korean War and afterwards married Mary Frances Moore of Foard Co, TX. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents Jesse Judson and Edith Boyer Porter of Sweetwater, TX; and sisters Gladys (Robert) Gunn of Lamesa, TX Kate (Ernie) Richards of Glendale, AZ and Jessie (Grover) Hanes of Sweetwater, TX. Jud was a tax accountant in Texas and Colorado after coming to Stearns-Roger Engineering in Denver. He retired from Stearns and worked for the City of Denver until his full retirement. He was actively engaged in stamp collecting and service in various clubs in his community. Jud especially enjoyed flea markets and garage sales. Jud also started his family history while in Denver and enjoyed learning of ancestral members of his family. Survivors include Jud and Mary's children Ramona (Richard) Berger of Denver, CO, David (Gwen) Porter of Lincoln, CA and Randy (Wanda) Porter of Denver, CO; their granddaughters April Porter of Spring, TX, Krissa Porter of Woodlands, TX and Lindsey Berger who is attending Georgia Tech; and a great granddaughter Kaylee Porter-Halverson of Spring, TX. Memorial Service Tuesday, September 16, 9:30 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E Dartmouth Ave, Aurora. His Committal Service will follow at Ft Logan National Cemetery, 11:30 AM, Staging area B. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jewish Family Service, c/o Weinberg Food Pantry, 3201 S.
