Jerry Ellen Koelmel

Jerry Ellen Koelmel, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on the morning of February 15, 2026. Born on October 28, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep commitment to helping others.

Jerry was a talented and dedicated seamstress. She poured love into every stitch, whether she was creating something new or repairing something meaningful for someone she cared about. She never hesitated to use her skills to help anyone who needed her, and her quiet acts of service touched countless lives. She earned her associate’s degree in accounting from Front Range Community College and began working in the Continuing Education Department.

Her personality lit up every room she entered. Jerry had a joyful spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and the best jokes, the kind that could turn a hard day around. She was always just one call away, no matter the time, no matter the reason. Her steady presence and willingness to show up made her a source of comfort and strength for so many.

She survived by her loving husband, Jim Koelmel, her children, Candace Knoll (Alan) and Dave (Nicole) Koelmel, and her grandchildren, Caeleb, Victoria (Colby), Isabella, Aurelia, and Matthew. Her family adored her and will forever carry her love forward. She guided us, lifted us, and filled our lives with stories, laughter, and warmth. Her family was her greatest joy, and her presence was the steady, comforting heart of their lives. She shaped us in ways we are only beginning to understand, and her love will carry with us forever. Jerry loved with her whole heart.

A Memorial Service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on Thursday, February 26th, at Horan & McConathy in Thornton (9998 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229). A viewing and visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. The Celebration Memorial will start at 12pm with a reception gathering following at 1pm until 3pm.
