Jeanie Hodapp

June 17, 1954 — August 2, 2021

Littleton

Jeanie Marie Hodapp, age 67, died peacefully at her home in Littleton, CO on August 2, 2021 after a one year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family in her final moments.

Jeanie was born June 17th, 1954 in Harlan, Iowa to Donald and Bernadine Leuschen.  She grew up on a farm with her 5 siblings in Panama, Iowa and graduated from Harlan High School.  After graduation, she was united in marriage to Wayne Hodapp in 1972 and moved to Lakewood, CO where they soon purchased their first home and her love for the Denver Broncos began and stayed strong until the end!

Wayne and Jeanie welcomed their first child, Paul in 1973 followed by their daughter, Tracy in 1976. They moved to Castle Rock, CO in 1981 to allow their children to grow up in a small town atmosphere.  During this time Jeanie was a stay at home mom until finding employment in food service for a nearby high school. She then cleaned high end homes until retiring in her early 50’s. Jeanie faithfully watched her Broncos whenever they played and ALWAYS sported her Broncos gear!  She always enjoyed having a beer (or two!) with family and friends.

Once both children graduated high school, they moved to Littleton, CO where they later built their dream home, with a large garage for Wayne and open ranch floorplan for Jeanie.

In 2003, Jeanie welcomed her first grandchild, Cole, born to Tracy and her husband Erik and two years later, Jack added to the count. Both boys always enjoyed spending time at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Grandma Jeanie loved to feed them as much sugar as she could before sending them back home. Always said that was her right as a grandma.

In 2014, Paul moved to Palm Springs, CA and married Dan George. Jeanie and Wayne loved spending time at their beautiful home that boasts a lavish backyard pool and outdoor kitchen not to mention many beautiful plants and citrus trees. A place always full of friends... Not a bad place to sit, relax and enjoy a cocktail!

Left to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 49 years Wayne, son, Paul and Husband Dan, Daughter Tracy and husband Erik and their two boys Jack and Cole; her sisters, Shirley Arkfeld, Kate Musich, Jan Wilson and Beth Leuschen-Stueve; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Jeanie in death are her parents, Donald and Bernadine Leuschen, her brother Doug  Leuschen and niece Jody McMillen.

Please share your memories of Jeanie and condolences with her family by signing the tribute wall.
