Jean Rita Rivard was born in Lewiston, Maine to Robert and Octavie Rivard on October 26, 1916. She was the oldest of three daughters and grew up surrounded by a large extended family. She graduated from Bates College in 1938. On October 26, 1940 she married Roland Hudon from Salmon Falls, New Hampshire. Their only child, William Hudon, was born in 1946. In 1947, Roland took over the Hudon family's retail business in Somersworth, NH and Jean continued to operate it after Roland's death in 1950; she expanded the business to include a summer shop in Kennebunkport, Maine. In 1965, she married Dr. Ernest Fraser and moved to Nashua, NH. She worked in his medical office until he retired and together they moved to Florida and spent summers in Maine. They shared twenty-two happy years together, traveling extensively and enjoying time spent with their families and friends. After her husband's death in 1987, Jean moved to Denver, Colorado in 1989 to be closer to her son and his family. She continued to travel, often accompanied by nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. Every trip was an adventure and she fondly remembered all the details, especially of the great meals she had enjoyed. Jean loved Colorado, its beauty and climate. She had a great ""joie de vivre"", was quick to laugh and thoroughly cherished time spent with family and friends. She was a talented artist and often preserved the memories of her travels on canvas. Jean passed away on March 11, 2014 of pneumonia. She is survived by her son William (Sheilagh) Hudon and grandsons Robert (Alejandra) and Colin Hudon; brothers-in-law Edward Leveque and Joseph Bousquet; 2 nephews; 3 nieces; and 8 grand-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands Roland Hudon and Ernest Fraser; sisters Cecile Leveque and Jacqueline Bousquet. She will be remembered with great love and fondness.
