Jason Dylan Leher was a truly awesome human being. He was passionate about all forms of life, showing deep empathy towards others and living with the smallest footprint to help save the planet. Jason was a versatile and exceptionally talented musician who shared his love of music with many. He lived his life leading with love.
Jason was born in Denver, Colorado. As a child, he grew up in a mountain home in Morrison. He later moved with his family to Littleton, Colorado where he attended school throughout high school. He finished his studies attending Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. He was a gifted, creative and exceptional student.
Musically inclined, Jason started in elementary school with the clarinet and added more instruments throughout his life. In middle and high school, he played in every school band available: jazz, Continental League Orchestra, marching band, and pit crew for theatrical productions. He was proficient in clarinet, various saxophones, and flute. In his adult years, he performed with several bands, often concurrently. He was adept at learning new songs and was often called to fill in at the last minute when other bands had an absent player. Oh, the musical gifts he had!
Jason brought sensitivity and an all-in commitment to a range of several job positions. His jobs included working as an aide at a developmentally disabled adult home in Washington, a playground monitor in the Cherry Creek schools and was on his way to working within the autism community. He thrived on helping communities to prosper.
Jason has a large extended family who will miss him, his great smile, his sense of humor and his gentle spirit very much! His brother, adopted sister, cousins, aunts and uncles celebrate the time we had with him. Jason was part of numerous communities of friends, musicians, coworkers, students, and lovers. We all were graced and enriched by the energy he shared with us.
Jason walked in peace with life. He was talented, intelligent, generous, kind and empathetic. He was a very gentle soul with good intention. May he go on in his next adventures full of light and love.
We love you so much! Thank you for being you!
In lieu of flowers, with a dedication prayer honoring Jason's life, please make a donation in his name to a worthy charity, such as a food bank, animal rescue or to so many other groups of folks contributing to making our world a brighter and more compassionate place.
