Janice Koons

Janice Sue Koons was born on March, 17, 1944 ☘️ in Cheyenne Wells, CO to Leona & Forrest Book. Shortly after her & her family moved to Aurora, CO where she eventually attended Central High School & soon after was married to her first Husband & welcomed her first born-Charles (Chuck) Ray Britton (1962). Five years later, she welcomed her second child, Tamara Kay Britton (1967)-A girl-in which she was so hopeful for. A boy & a girl fulfilled her family dreams.

In 1978 Jan met the love of her life, Kenny Koons & they were soon married on September 20th, 1980 where Jan gained a step-son, Chade J. Koons. The blended family spent a lot of time together camping & traveling.

Jan worked a multitude of jobs & retired in the 90's from Delta Dental as Head of the Orthodontics department. But above all; shined her passion for crafting, painting and knitting. She was quite the Artist!

Throughout the 90's & early 2000's Jan welcomed five grandchildren, whom meant the world to her! Her favorite thing in the world was spend time with them. In addition, Jan enjoyed other hobbies such as camping, crafting, traveling, shopping and playing games-Card games especially.

Jan was the most supportive and giving woman. Always putting others before herself & taking care of everyone. If you were in Jan's life; you would never go without a warm hug, a bright smile or an encouraging word from her. She was looked up to by so many.

Jan is survived by her son Chuck (Kris) Britton; daughter Tamara Deges;daughter-in- law Mel Koons; granddaughter Haily (Bradley Keil) Gigandet; grandson Austin (Laurin) Koons; granddaughter Kelby (Elliot) Kipling; granddaughter Alissa (Brandon) Wolfe;  granddaughter Carly (Brandon Long) Deges; great-grandkids Cayson, Presley, Ava, Oaklynn, Axel, Greysen, Asher, Rhett Koons, (hopefully more soon) & her beloved dog, Rusti.  As well as numerous cousins, nieces/nephews & friends.

Jan is proceeded in death by her husband Kenny Koons; son Chade Koons; parents Leona & Forrest Book; brother Bob; sister Ladonna.

Funeral Service Friday, April 7, 2023, 10:30 am, Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment 12:00 pm, Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Please join us for a celebration of life after the Memorial services at Gate N Green Clubhouse, 13405 Main St. Broomfield 80020.

In lieu of flowers, it was Jan's wishes to have donations made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
