Janet Darling

Janet Marie Darling, age 73, died at Northern Suburban Medical Center on March 5, 2025 after a brief illness.

Janet was born on July 23, 1951, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was the first of nine children born to Margaret (Lamansky) Darling and Barton L. Darling, Jr. Growing up in a military family, Jan lived in five different states, including Colorado, California, Maryland, Kansas, and Texas. She also lived in Japan and Germany.

After graduating Cum Laude from Metro College in Denver, Jan worked in several positions and retired in 2016 from the UC Health University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jan was a proud member of Mensa, as well as an accomplished artist and crafter. She relished reading, writing, gardening, and sewing. Jan was an avid fan of the Denver Rockies, the Denver Broncos, and the Colorado Avalanche. She enjoyed traveling and visited England twice, as well as other countries in Europe. Jan loved dogs and cats and always had more than one to keep her company.

Survivors include Diana Darling (Stan Anthony), Karen Weeks (Robert Weeks), Barton Darling (Sally Darling), Dale Darling, Anita Darling, Mark Darling (Valerie Darling), Bambi Darling (Troy Seifer), as well as nephews Jason, Eric, Nick, Ben, Maxwell and nieces Bambi, Amanda, Emily, and Sara along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jan was preceded in death by her mother, her father, and her sister, Valerie Darling.

There will be a viewing at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W 80th Avenue, Arvada from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Friday, March 14. A service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints at 7080 Independence Street, Arvada at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 15. There will be a reception at the church after the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Valerie Darling for all she has done to help Jan and the family during this difficult time.

The family also thanks the staff at Northern Suburban Medical Center for their compassionate care for Janet.
