Jane Kocourek

 Jane Kocourek, long-time resident of Sidney, Nebraska, died peacefully surrounded by family on the morning of January 30, 2024, at age 83. Jane was born to Delbert and Alma Gardner on November 22, 1940, in Broken Bow, Nebraska. As a young girl she loved horseback riding and playing sports. She grew up working in her parents’ restaurants where she developed a passion for cooking (and more importantly, eating). After graduating high school in Sargeant, Nebraska Jane married her husband of 65 years, Jerry. The two of them settled in Sidney where Jane became a system associate county judge/clerk magistrate for Cheyenne County. She loved family meals, going out dancing, and enjoying life's simple pleasures. She is survived by her husband Jerry, brother Jerry Gardner, four children (David, Janis, Jay, and Mark) as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
