Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Jane Ann Hoeft was called to heaven on May 3, 2025, at the age of 88, in Colorado after a hard-fought battle with breast cancer.
Born in Stewartville, Minnesota, on April 11, 1937, Jane was the cherished daughter of James and Ruth Andreasen. Her early years in southern Minnesota were marked by a deep love of music and faith, which would shape the course of her life.
Jane moved to Minneapolis to attend college. It was there that she met her future husband, Rev. Robert Louis Hoeft. They were married on September 29, 1962, beginning a lifelong partnership grounded in love, shared purpose, and service to others.
The two lived in Minnesota for a short time before moving to Nebraska, where he served as a Lutheran pastor and she as the organist. They welcomed three children, David, Nancy and Karen. Jane moved to Colorado after the passing of her husband.
Jane was a generous person who lived life to the fullest where she had a passion for music and playing the piano and organ. She enjoyed gardening, birds and a variety of crafts from embroidery to sewing and stamping. She crafted many things for family and friends including a special Christmas stocking for each member of her family.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Gordon and Norbert, and husband Robert.
Jane was known for her unwavering kindness, vibrant spirit, and dedication to her family. She is survived by her son Dr. David Hoeft (Michelle) of Omaha, NE; daughters Nancy Groves (Steve) of Littleton, CO; Karen Johnson of Scottsbluff, NE. Grandchildren Ben (Kirsten) Hoeft, Tawny (Matt) Bruyette, Dylan (Trinity) Craig of Omaha, NE, Chandler Hoeft of Seattle, WA, Maya and Olivia Groves of Littleton CO, Jacob (Jessi) Johnson of Scottsbluff, NE and 3 great grandchildren who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Funeral services will take place at Atonement Lutheran church in Lakewood, CO on Friday May 9 at 11:00 preceded by public viewing at 10:00. Burial services will take place in York, NE on Monday May12 at 1:00 pm.
