Jan S. Loutzenhiser

Jan S. Loutzenhiser, age 87, passed away at Collier Hospice Center on October 16, 2024. He grew up in Lamar, CO and graduated from Lamar Union High School. He continued his education at CSU Fort Collins earning a bachelor’s degree in business. He received his master’s degree from the University of Southern California. Jan was in the ROTC and served in the Army Reserve.

Jan began his career at King Soopers as a grocery clerk. He moved up through the company and eventually earned the position of executive Vice President. He spent over 30 years employed at King Soopers.

He was a passionate Denver Broncos football fan and attended home games for the last 55 years. He was an avid golfer, exercised regularly and loved playing racquetball. He enjoyed yard work and cooking for the family. Reading was also a favorite past time. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow into young adults. Winston, his dog and buddy, added special joy to his life over the past two years.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilou, his daughter's Janell Martin and Gaye Bloesser, and stepson David Guida. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandson.

Funeral services will take place at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 10:00am. A reception will be held at the church hall following the service. Inurnment service will take place at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery at 2:00pm.
