James "Jim" Dubee

February 12, 1947 — April 20, 2023

DUBEE, James Arthur “Jim” passed away on April 20, 2023, after a 2 year long battle with illness. He was 76.

Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carole G Dubee of Denver Colorado, and his two daughters Megan Dubee (Chris Brooks) and Erin Dubee both of Denver Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty (Caples) Dubee and sister Jackie Dubee.

Jim was born in Glens Falls, New York on February 12, 1947. After high school, he moved to Colorado to attend the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, where he graduated with his engineering degree in 1969. He worked for 2 years as an engineer around the United States before pursuing his law degree at the University of Denver. He graduated law school in 1974 and in the same year he married his wife Carole.  He started his own  law practice early into his career, and he practiced for over 44 years in the Denver area until his retirement in 2018.

In his younger years he enjoyed the Colorado outdoors including hiking, biking and skiing.  He was also an avid fiction reader. Over the years, Jim and his family enjoyed traveling to different places around the US.  Jim will be remembered as a loving husband and father as well as for his generosity and willingness to help others.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim’s memory to Berkley Hospice at 10697 E Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014.

A private viewing for the family will be held on April 25, 2023, followed by cremation.
