James Albert Uhrlaub of Castle Rock, Co, a disabled US veteran, died May 5, 2025, at Aurora, Colorado. He was born July 14, 1929, to Ernst and Vernadine Gilmore in Arkansas City, Kansas and later moved to Colorado where he spent his life enjoying and raising his family.
James graduated from Denver public schools and received a degree in Petroleum Geology from the Colorado School of Mines. He worked in the field of geology until his retirement.
Jim married Shirley “Sally” Lambecht May 30,1953, in Denver, she was the love of his life. She survives. They had four children a son James Albert Jr, and three daughters Dena, Nancy and Robin. He is survived by three son-in- laws and a daughter- in- law, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson .
James is a proud lifetime member of the Order of Masons, El Jebel Jeep patrol, Shriners and many other activities along with his wife.
A private funeral service will be held in June.
