James Edson Stromberg 84, passed peacefully at his home in Denver on June 30, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judie, son Kevin (Jennifer), daughter Renee, son Eric, son Craig (Mary), 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Jim was born on April 17, 1931 in Valentine, NE but raised in Perham, MN with 5 siblings, Mary, Agnes, John, Jack & Roy who all preceded him in death. He was a decorated athlete and musician in high school, an honorably discharged veteran of the US Navy after serving in the Korean War, and a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota. Outside of his long career in the steel industry, Jim found great enjoyment playing golf, gardening, dancing, volunteering with youth sports organizations, singing in his church choir and helping with community activities through his Optimist Club. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 4905 E Yale Ave 80222 at 11am on Friday, July 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Grace United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or The Denver Hospice.
