James Francis Schmiesing

James F. Schmiesing, 82, of Castle Pines, CO died on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree, CO. He was born on January 14, 1944 in Minster, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Vera (Meyer) Schmiesing. He married Marilyn E. Smith on October 3, 1970 in St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church in Toronto, Ohio. She survives in Castle Pines, CO. He is also survived by his siblings: Dorothy Lammers, Minster, Ohio, Anne and Richard Robbins, Boulder, CO, Robert and Sue Schmiesing, Minster, Ohio and Richard and Susannah Schmiesing, Ecuador and two brothers-in-law: George (Jeanne) Smith of Woodland Park, CO and Daniel (Joanne) Smith of Colorado, Springs, CO.

James graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and from Purdue University with a Master's Degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering. He worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio and also Lockheed Martin, Denver, CO. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 26 years of service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.

m. Monday, February 16, 2026 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, CO. A rosary will be said at 10:15 a.m. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Centennial, CO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Project Angel Heart, or Project C.U.R.E. International.
