James Franklin (Jim) Roberts, age 91 passed away on July 22, 2025 in Parker, Colorado in the company of his family and his little dog. Jim was born on July 4th, 1934 in Martling, Alabama. He grew up in Albertville, Alabama, graduating from Albertville High School and joining the Navy. Ensign Roberts was originally assigned to the communications office on a ship where he learned the Navy was accepting enlisted men to train as aviators. He served with honor as a pilot in the Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. He became a pilot for Pan American World Airways, earning respect along the way until he became a member of the management team. He was honored to be in the crew of “Friendship One” which set speed records for flying around the world Jim flew for Pan Am for 30 years before retiring in Cumming, GA. Along the way, he met the love of his life, Yvonne, while stationed at Alameda Naval Air Station. They married and had 3 children. He always said he was just a country boy, blessed with the most amazing California girl. Jim was proud of his accomplishments, but no accomplishment could compare to the joy he felt with his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his 3 children and 9 grandchildren. His life was celebrated by his immediate family: Doug and Barbara Webb, Derek Webb, Bryan Webb, Zachary Webb, Evan Webb, Alexis Roberts, Caden Roberts, his granddaughters-in-law: Maddie McCarthy and Hailey Harris and his niece, Suzi McDonald at a military service at Ft Logan National Cemetery where he has been laid to rest beside his beloved Yvonne.
