James “Jim” G. Popp, age 62 went to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, after a long battle with diabetes. He was born November 2,1962 in Omaha, Nebraska to James G “Bud” and Mary “Theresa” Popp. He is survived by his brother, Michael Popp(Lisa) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; brother-in-law Scott Fletcher of Omaha, Nebraska; nieces and nephews Justin Popp, Nicole (Popp) Vossler, Brooke (Fletcher) Plummer and Benjamin Fletcher; grandnieces and nephews Jayden and Audrina Baca, Fletcher Gerrick Plummer; cousins Sue Allen, Kate Lee, Lisa Reichert amongst numerous other cousins.He was preceded in death by his mother and father Theresa and James “Bud” Popp and sister Anne Gerilyn “Geri” Fletcher.
He was a graduate of Colorado Art Institute. For over the last 20 years he was employed at Myxed Up Creations as a graphic designer. With great excitement and superb talent he created art in various forms. For eleven years, Jim was the art director at YOLO Rum designing online video productions and graphics. He created logos for the local professional sports teams (Broncos, Rockies and Avalanche) also for his cousin James Hermsen’s company Spokiz Eye-wear. He also designed logos for various companies and special events ( USA Volleyball-Olympic Team, Colorado, American Cancer Society and Young Life Christian) to name a few.
Jim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, riding his motorcycle and enjoying nature through camping and hiking. Jim had an uncanny ability to impact people in a deep and positive way.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25, 2025 at 10:00 at the Eisenhower Chapel, 293 Roslyn St, Denver Colorado.
