It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father James “Jim” B. Kimminau, who left us on January 9th, 2024. Dad departed this world surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and unforgettable moments.
Born on February 11th, 1940 in Kingman, Kansas. Dad was a master storyteller, turning ordinary tales into epic adventures. His jokes were legendary, and he had an uncanny ability to bring smiles to faces, even on the gloomiest days. Dad's humor was infectious, and he could light up a room with his witty remarks and playful banter.
Dad was a family man, and was the backbone of our household. From teaching us how to bowl and play golf to imparting invaluable life lessons, he was always there with open arms and a heart full of love. His drywall projects always turned out better than planned, and the memories created during those endeavors are cherished treasures.
Dad had a passion for Volunteering his time and talents at the various clubs and organizations that he belonged to like the Elks, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Denver Bowling, Denver Senior Mens Golf, and donating blood to Bonfils Donation Centers. Dad encouraged that enthusiasm, and invited everyone around him to join or contribute. Whether it was a weekend bowling tournament, cooking on the grills at a function, playing cards with family, or just simply watching the Broncos game, those moments defined dad and the joy he brought wherever he was.
His Family: Wife – Carol
Children – Kathy, Eric, Marc, Kevin, Keith
Grandchildren – Cassandra, Nick, Marcio, Haley, Leah, Kiera, Donald, Morgan, Davis, Summer, Hope, Noah, Lucy
Great Grandchildren Braylon, Iylah, Jaxson
The Family would ask that attendees arrive in "Jim Kimminau" casual wear to the life celebration and the memorial service to be held at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Home at 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd, in Lakewood, CO, on the date of 1/18/2024 at 2:00 PM. We want to celebrate the joy he brought into our lives, embracing the casual charm that was uniquely him.
Although dad may no longer be with us physically, his spirit lives on in the countless memories we shared. As we bid him farewell, let's remember the laughter, the love, and the special bond we had with the man who made every day an adventure.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
