The family of James (Jim/Jimmy) R. Ferree sadly announces that our father left us on November 2, 2021 in Grand Junction, Colorado to join our mother. Daddy was born in Louisville, Ohio June 30, 1928 and lived a rich 93 years. On November 8, 1953, he married the love of his life Glenyce E. Devins in Wichita, Kansas and they remained inseparable until her passing in 2019. He served honorably in the US Air Force for 21 years and completed a tour of duty in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. He was a skilled electrician, electronics repairman and ‘fix it’ guy. Our family settled in Commerce City, Colorado in 1962 and lived in the same home until 2019. Daddy leaves behind 3 children – Yvette in Omaha, NE; Bruce (Christeen) in Sutter Creek, CA; and Barry (Rosemarie) in Mack, CO – as well as 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Services and burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver at Noon on November 18, 2021.
In order to thank those special folks at Hope West Hospice in Grand Junction who cared for both our mother and father as they aged, in lieu of flowers, we request that donations be given to Hope West Hospice in our parents’ names (3090 North 12th Street, Unit B Grand Junction, CO 81506).
Please share memories of James and condolences with his family by visiting the Tribute Wall.
