James Robert Craig

James “Jim” Robert Craig, 87, passed peacefully away on November 10, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loving family and the wonderful caregivers at Clermont Park senior living community.

Jim was born on April 22, 1938, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Charles and W. Mary Craig. A renaissance man with tremendous wit, Jim’s interests included, fine arts painting, singing, acting, a lifelong love of theater, woodworking and home improvements. Professionally, his career spanned television, film and other audio-visual formats, comprising writing, directing and producing for universities, public broadcasting and other organizations. He also served as a beloved teacher of speech, drama and television production at the high school and collegiate levels. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science from Indiana University.

Devoted to his family and and friends, Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita, their children Maureen (Tim, partner) and James (Jamie, wife) and grandchildren Charles “Charlie” and Julia.

A private family gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will be held in coming weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either Clermont Park or Rocky Mountain PBS.
