James "Jim" Bowman

James Dale (Jim) Bowman, 83, joined our Lord on July 12th, 2026. Jim was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 15, 1942 to Walter Samuel Bowman and Ruth (Houtz) Bowman. 

Jim attended technical school that gave him the opportunity to work for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in Maryland as a precision sheet metal mechanic for many years. Jim enjoyed many things, but his favorites were: coin collecting, jewelry making, and being with family members and friends. His favorite place to be was always Ocean City, Maryland. 

Jim is survived his wife of 63 years, Barbara M Bowman; sons, Christopher M. Bowman and Matthew B. Bowman (Brandi Bowman) and grandchildren; Connor I. Bowman, Madalena C. Bowman, and Charlotte J. Bowman. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Walter Samuel Bowman; mother, Ruth H Bowman; and sisters, Shirley Bowman Cook, Delores Bowman Charnock and Joan Bowman Doggendorf.

A memorial service will be held on July 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Horan & McConaty. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring a man whose life was a beacon of love and warmth. The family kindly requests that donations be made in Jim’s memory to the Volunteers of America or the West Metro Fire Rescue. 

James Dale Bowman leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in our heart.
