Jacquelyn Doris Briggs, age 89, died peacefully in her assisted living apartment on September 13, 2023 with family by her side. The loving wife, mother and grandmother was born on November 24, 1933, in Denver, CO. She lived most of her life in the Denver Metro area, where she devoted her life as a housewife and mother. Jacquelyn graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1952. She married her high school sweetheart Robert Daniel Briggs in 1953.
Jacquelyn was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Many people often told us how much they loved our mother. She was active in her church, St. Bernadette’s. She participated in a church knitting group making prayer shawls and donating them. She also sang in the church choir at St. Bernadette’s and at her independent living facility, The Garden at St. Elizabeth’s. She was an avid reader, knitter and crocheter.
Jacquelyn was a loving wife of 67 years to Robert Briggs who preceded her in death, and mother of 3 children-Michael G. Briggs(Jacqueline), Christine A. Wright(Stuart) and Catherine M. Trecek(Todd). Jacquelyn also had 4 grandchildren- Danielle Tuttle(Stephen), Lindsay Briggs, and Ashley Hough(Chad) and 10 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at The Garden’s at St. Elizabeth- 2835 West 32nd Ave, Denver, CO 80211. It will start at 3:30pm. The funeral services will be held at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church, 7240 W. 12th Ave, Denver, CO 80214, on Wednesday, September 27th. A viewing will take place in the church vestibule at 9:00am prior to the mass. The mass will begin at 10:00am. Burial will take place on at Ft. Logan Cemetery on Friday, September 29th at 10:30. A memory book will be available at the church.
