Jaqueline (Jackie) Mae Lund, a longtime resident of Golden, Colorado, passed away on June 11, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, at the age of 91.
Jackie was born on July 17, 1934, in Erskine, Minnesota, to parents James and Gladys Johnston. Jackie grew up in the Effie/Bigfork, Minnesota, area and graduated from Bigfork High School. She married Morris Duane Lund on April 24, 1954, and they moved with their four children to Golden, Colorado, in 1966. Jackie retired from Jefferson County School District as a Cafeteria Manager in 2003.
Jackie enjoyed quilt making, sewing, cross stitch, crocheting, and doing crafts of any kind. She was a longtime baseball fan, loved attending family reunions, spending winter months in Arizona, taking road trips, and camping. (As long as camping did not involve a tent!) Jackie was an excellent baker, and her homemade cinnamon rolls were legendary. (Her banana cream pie was pretty good too!)
For the past couple of years, Jackie was an active resident at the Golden Pond Retirement Community in Golden, Colorado. She loved to play bingo, was always up for a game of cards, marbles, or dominoes.
Jackie is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her son, Jon. She is also predeceased by her brother, Floyd Johnston, her brother-in-laws, James Wicklund and Silas Brannan.
Jackie is survived by her children, Jenelle, Joelle, and Jay, her grandchildren, Angela and Danielle, and her great-granddaughters, Stevi, Rylee, and Cali. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Wicklund, Scott Johnston (Marcie), Marlene Brannan, Kay Rohwer (Randy), many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Jackie was a sweet woman with a kind heart. She was accepting, encouraging, trusting, and allowed others to shine around her. We will miss her so much.
Please share memories and condolences with Jackie’s family by signing the guestbook.
