Jacqueline Gay Hildebrandt

Jacqueline Gay Hildebrandt, 72, of Arvada, Colorado, was born on October 24, 1953 and died of lung cancer on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Jackey grew up in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. After graduation from Alexander Ramsey High School in Roseville Minnesota, she attended Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated with High Honors with a degree in elementary education. Jackey immediately started her teaching career at Linwood Elementary in the Forest Lake Area School District, located in Wyoming, Minnesota. After a few years, her husband Keith accepted a transfer to Denver, Colorado. There she taught in the Jefferson County School District at Sierra Elementary in Arvada and Semper Elementary in Westminster Colorado. Jackey also taught Sunday school at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church for many years. She also still hears from some of her former students. Jackey loved gardening, growing her own flowers, (from seed by the way), fishing, boating at Lake Powell in Utah, playing tennis, pickleball, and the occasional golf game. She even ran the Bolder Boulder marathon. Probably one of her favorite activities was sewing and embroidery work with her friends. Jackey was also the Team Mom for her youngest son, Ben, who was on a competitive baseball team in Arvada. She visited a lot of baseball fields starting with her oldest son Ryan who also loved baseball. Preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Gaylord Wahl and survived by her loving family, husband Keith and their two sons Ryan (Becky) and Ben (Rachel), her two “favorite students” her grandkids, Reid and Brooke, and her brother Gaylord Wahl Jr. (Mary).

 Jackey’s services are being held Wednesday, March 25th, at Horan&McConaty 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80003 starting at 11:00 a.m. with a reception at noon.
