Jackie quietly left us July 15th after a long illness. She was born March 6, 1929 on the cusp of the Great Depression. She was the ninth of eleven children in a crowded house in Gloversville, NY.
Her diminutive size belied her strength and courage when rising to challenges, as in going to nursing school in New York City on her own pursuing a career as a LPN. Nursing was the perfect fit to her generous and caring nature for others. Despite her 5'2" frame she chased down and identified a child rapist. Another time she was injured placing herself between a knife wielding burglar and her future husband and his sister who were both blind.
Her joy came for being around family and friends celebrating with food, fun and pranks. She is predeceased by her husband Danny, daughter Christine and all her siblings.
She is survived by daughters Teresa and Sandy, son Art, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. Let us celebrate her life and love.
