Jack D. Renke passed away on June 26th, 2024 due to complications brought on by Parkinson's induced Dementia. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Jack was born in Greeley, Colorado on October 7th, 1940 to Esther and William Renke and had two sisters: Barbara and Billie Jean. In 1959, Jack graduated from Denver's North High School; then attended some college at CSU before enlisting in the military. From 1961 to 1964, he served in the United States Army. Jack was married to his first wife, Audrey, from 1964 to 1991 and they had 4 children. He married his second wife, Mary Lou, from 1994 to 2022 and became a step father to 4 daughters.
Jack worked for Litvak Meat Packing Company for 28 years, followed by tax preparation for H&R Block and performing retail audits and until he officially retired in 2007. During his retirement he volunteered at Northglenn United Church of Christ.
Jack enjoyed Sunday morning doughnuts or pancakes, watching the Denver Broncos, Westerns, going for bike rides or walks with his dogs. He loved collecting facts and pictures of old cars, along with creating board and card games. He was the self-appointed Commissioner of his family based fantasy football league and is the inventor of his outdoor game “Rollerball”. In 2012, Jack and his son Curtis completed the “Tour de Cure for Diabetes”. Every year, Jack, his family and the church put together Christmas meal boxes for those less fortunate.
Jack is survived by his 4 children Jackie, Regina, Curtis and Debby and 4 stepdaughters Michelle, Terry, Karen and Rebecca. He loved and will be missed by his 6 nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, along with 11 great-grand nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Horan & McConaty on July 15th at 10AM. Located at 9998 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229. Followed by a Celebration of Life reception at Northglenn United Church of Christ, 10500 Grant Drive, Northglenn, CO 80233.
In lieu of flowers and gifts the family is requesting donations to the Northglenn United Church of Christ.
