John A. “Jack” Davidson

September 28, 2026. Age: 85
John Arthur “Jack” Davidson, 85, died Sept. 28 after battling an illness. Mr. Davidson taught in Denver Public Schools at Byers Junior High, West High School and John F. Kennedy High School in a career spanning 26 years. He attended Colorado School of Mines and later graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63.
Mr. Davidson was an avid Denver sports fan, especially of his beloved Broncos. He also loved CU, CSU and Air Force football. His interests included history, genealogy and geology. He took his science classes to the dinosaur remains west of Denver decades before Dinosaur Ridge took over and protected the area. He went on to work there after retiring from teaching.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara, and son Eric, both of Denver. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Antoinette Davidson, and a son, Brian Davidson.
Services are Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
