Irene Martinez

Irene Marie Martinez 96, of Denver Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021. Irene was born in Aguilar, Colorado on October 20th 1924, to Fred and Agapita Cruz. Irene was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church, Most Precious Blood. Irene was an avid gardener growing everything from flowers to vegetables.  Garlic was a necessary staple in her garden. Anyone that knew her, will remember that she was always running out to get garlic for her green chili. Irene will be remembered for her wholehearted love, her fiery nature and the unwavering support she provided to her family.

Irene is survived by her daughter Nancy C. Evans, grandson Anthony M. Halitsky, granddaughter Lorri K. Williamson, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband Paul Martinez, her sisters Barbara Pondell and Alice Tobin and granddaughter Michele M. Halitsky.
