Irene Cecilia Brandt, of Denver, CO; passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2025.
Irene was born on October 5, 1942 to parents Garrett B. Brandt and Edith C. Brandt in Sedgwick CO. She attended high school in Sydney, NE and then moved to Denver, CO to attend Business College. After completing Business college, she began working for Alexander Grant and Co. She worked 48 years for the company before retiring from what was now Grant Thornton.
Irene was a devoted Roman Catholic and loved her church and church family. She dedicated many years of volunteer work at the church doing such things as working at the annual Bazaar in the roast beef booth or counting money, counting money for the weekly collection, she made it possible for many to attend church and meetings by driving them to and from, and being a lectern just to name a few. She was also a part of the Faith Sharing ministry, the Seniors’ Group, as well as leading the rosary. She also volunteered for the Knights of Columbus Bingo and served as a volunteer at the Adams County tax program.
When she wasn’t doing things at the church, Irene also enjoyed bowling-in her early years, knitting, reading, playing cards or games, watching any of the professional Colorado sports teams or Chicago Cubs, and she always had a puzzle out.
Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She lived her life to give to others. She was caring, trustworthy, honest, true to her word, strong and courageous. She was a woman who didn’t look for the reward, but graciously gave of herself to many. She will be loved and missed by all who she touched and was part of their lives.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Nathan. She had 2 grandchildren Brookelyn and David. She is also survived by 2 brothers, David and Dennis Brandt, nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Helen and brother Ralph.
Funeral services will take place at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Catholic Church Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 10:30am with a rosary to be held prior at 10:00am. A reception will follow the service at Horan and McConaty.
Burial services will be for family in Ovid, CO. January 14, 2026.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
