Ida Kramb, age 84, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on May 16, surrounded by family. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion and an unwavering faith in God.
Ida was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to the Denver area in 1955 with her parents and siblings. She graduated from St. Francis High School in Denver in 1958.
Ida worked for Rogers/Nagle/Langhart architects for 12 years, where she perfected the role of secretary and office manager, before going to work for the Department Of Agriculture Office of the General Counsel. Her office was next door to the U.S. Forest Service and she thoroughly enjoyed the 50th anniversary of Smokey the Bear, showering her nieces and nephews with keepsakes from the celebration. She earned several awards as well as a certificate of Merit from the Department of Agriculture four consecutive years before her retirement as an Administrative Officer in 2002.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Anna Marie Kramb and her brother Charles Kramb. She is survived by her brothers John Kramb of Denver, Larry Kramb of Roswell Georgia, and beloved sister Alice Perkins of Commerce City, Colorado.
She is also survived by numerous friends, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews who will sadly miss her. She is also survived by her beloved dog Gladus. Gladus was the joy of her life as reflected in her name: Glad-us. Gladus was “glad” she was adopted into a loving home, and Ida was “glad” she had found such a dear dog companion.
Ida was the core of the large family, regularly holding family gatherings at her house. She was an excellent cook and her gatherings were always enhanced with themed decorations. Those who knew her knew her house was always a warm and welcoming place, decorated for each season, and enhanced with a collection of pig ornaments. Her yard and gardens were one of her great joys and she loved to show them off.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Colorado.
A memorial service will be held at a future date.
