Hugh Gerald Miller Obituary
October 10, 1944 - June 8, 2026

Hugh Gerald Miller, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born in Kentucky and grew up in Florida. After high school graduation, he joined the United States Air Force. He went through basic training in Texas, and at 18 years old, was assigned to Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. It was here that he met and married his wife of 61 years, Marina (Quizon) Miller.

Hugh spent 20 years with the United States Air Force primarily in the Philippines with various temporary duty assignments in Taiwan, Japan, Illinois and South Carolina. During this time he was awarded many ribbons and medals for his accomplishments, played saxophone in the Air Force Band for 4 years and received his MBA. After retiring as a Captain in 1982, he moved the family to the United States. They ultimately settled down in Colorado where he worked another 20 years and retired from the US Department of Energy.

Hugh had a love of music and an eclectic collection of albums, everything from the Bee Gees to Metallica. He also loved going on hikes in Colorado, traveling to the National Parks and spending time with his grandkids and family. His true love was his wife Marina, whom he adored. The only time they were apart in their 61 years of marriage was for 6 months when he went back to Texas for his Masters Program while he was in the USAF.

Hugh is survived by his wife Marina Miller, 4 children: Mike Miller (Carrie), Gerry Miller (Leticia), Fe Rucker and Maribel Markham. Hugh will also be missed by his grandchildren: Jakob Miller (Rachel Larkin), Gerrell Miller, Ryan Rucker (Janaya), Caley Greenier (Miles) and Sydney Miller (Chris). Along with his siblings Elena Gay, David Miller and Glenn Miller; Sister-in-Law Josefina Agudo and several nephews and their families.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde Miller and Mary Joe Witherspoon and a Sister-in-Law Gloria Quizon.
