Hilda Brockmann

Hilda Eleanora Brockmann was born on August 4, 1929, in Athboy, South Dakota to Caroline and Frederick Sonnenfeld. When she was a toddler, her family moved to Loveland, Colorado, where she grew up. She moved to Denver in her early twenties, attended business college, and later, worked in accounting. She was a devoted homemaker, mother, and volunteer at her church and in the community. She also served on the school board at Lutheran High School for numerous years.

She married Francis “Brock” Brockmann on June 11, 1955. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Kent, Linda and Karen. She and Brock were lifelong members of Christ Lutheran Church.

Hilda is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Barb Brockmann of the Dominican Republic; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Mark Pasternak of Colorado; and daughter and son-in-law Karen and Bruce Town of Illinois; seven grandchildren and their spouses, ten great grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends.

She will be remembered for her love of family, strong faith, generous spirit, enthusiasm for travel and new adventures, love of music and reading, and a contagious laugh.

We celebrate that she will be in Heaven with our Lord and will be reunited with Brock and those loved ones who went before her.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 12pm to 1pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado 80246. Funeral Mass will follow at 2pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 2695 S Franklin St, Denver, CO 80210. She will be laid to rest in a private family service at Littleton Cemetery at a future date.
