Helen Siegoski, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024. She was born December 3, 1929, in Kleenburn, Wyoming, to Polish immigrant parents George and Anna Legerski. She was the sixth of nine children. She grew up in Monarch, Wyoming and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1948. After graduation she worked at First National Bank for 13 years. In 1951, she married Robert (Bob) Siegoski in Holy Name Church in Sheridan, Wyoming. They moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1961 where they raised their three daughters. She worked at various banks and retired from Wyoming National Bank. She volunteered for the Casper Trooper Drum and Bugle Corps while living in Casper. In 1990, she and Bob moved to Buffalo, Wyoming, where she did volunteer work for Lifeline, Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. She was a past President of Buffalo Homemakers, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Women’s Club, Fiber Guild and Secretary/Treasurer of Cloud Peak Homeowners Association.
Known for her quick wit, love of jokes and devotion to her extended family, she also was an artist in the kitchen and an excellent craftswoman. She enjoyed gardening and won many awards for her counter cross stitching and quilting. Helen enjoyed traveling and was proud of her Polish heritage. One of her fondest memories was a trip to Poland with her sister, Elizabeth, where she visited and met many of her cousins on both her mother and father’s side of the family.
After the death of her beloved husband, Bob, 2008, Helen moved to Colorado in 2021 where she lived at Bonaventure Senior Living. She had many friends and enjoyed all of the activities they offered. She was known there as quite the gambler, attending many bingo and card games.
Helen is survived by three daughters: Roberta Stricker (Kim), Mary Boal (Dave), and Patti Coonts (Rory). She is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Stanko, and one brother, John Legerski as well as by four grandsons, two granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheridan, Wyoming on Tuesday April 2, 2024, at 10am. Helen will be laid to rest, next to her husband Bob, at Sheridan Memorial Cemetery, following the services.
In lieu of flowers, Helen’s request was donations made to Sheridan Elk’s Lodge #520, P.O. Box 624, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801.
