Helen Martha Nusbaum

Helen Martha Theis Nusbaum, 103, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully September 22, 2014. Helen was born January 24, 1911 in Troy, Kansas to Nicholas and Katherine Kobatch Theis. Helen married James A. Nusbaum who preceded her in death. She is survived by their two children, Kathryn L. Nusbaum of Denver; Lawrence J. Nusbaum of Sante Fe, New Mexico; and her sister, Theresa Young, of Denver. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joe Nusbaum; four brothers and four sisters. A Viewing and Rosary will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 3:00pm, in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Blvd., Denver. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 25, 9:00am, in the Francis Heights Chapel, 2626 Osceola Street, Denver. Additional services will be held in Kansas. A visitation has been scheduled from 3:00-5:00pm, on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at The Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas, with a rosary starting at 3:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, Kansas. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas where she will be laid to rest with her husband James.
