Helen Kiessling, age 93 left on her journey to Heaven on October 28, 2021. Helen had her son by her side at the time of her passing.
Helen was born in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Marjorie Crosse. Helen grew up in a family of twelve children and even at a young age had the role of being her mother’s helper for such a large family. As more and more kids became old enough to leave the nest, Helen had time to spend with her girlfriends. One day they attended a dance that Navy seaman were attending, and as chance would have it, one seaman in particular was William Kiessling. Helen and Bill started their happy life together in 1952 and brought a son, Bill into the world in 1958.
Employment opportunities brought the young family to Colorado in 1960 and they knew how lucky they were to have found such a great place to raise their son. As their son got older Helen found time to study and complete Cosmetology School. Time seemed to pass quickly, and their young son having finished high school was on to college, employment and marriage.
Sadness interrupted Helen’s happy life in 1995 when her husband Bill passed away. Helen relocated to Littleton to live closer to her son Bill and daughter-in-law Connie. Helen loved spending time with Bill, Connie and their beagles. Helen enjoyed seeing the visitors to her bird feeders, growing tomato plants and wildflowers, reading novels, and being a member of the St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Parish.
During Helen’s 12 days in the hospital there was great hope for her recovery but sadly, Helen was needed elsewhere and called away.
