On Monday, April 15, 2024, Harry E. Coven, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at age 86.
Harry (Bud) was born on March 22, 1938 at Porters Hospital in Denver to Elmer Louis Coven and Erma Rosella (Kellicut) Coven. He was a dedicated Lieutenant in the Denver Fire Department from May 1965, and served in the Navy from 1957 to 1961.
On June 27, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart, Janice (Jan) Davies. They celebrated 66 years of marriage and raised two children, Deborah and Mark.
In 1991, Harry retired from the Denver Fire Department and spent his time camping and fishing with his grandchildren. Harry had a passion for fishing and spent as much time as he could in the mountains with his wife Jan and family. When he wasn’t in the mountains, you could always find Harry on the golf course or in his garage working on his cars.
Harry was predeceased by his sisters Beverly Schneider and Sharon Coven. He is survived by his wife Jan, son & daughter in-law Mark & Mary Coven, daughter & son in-law Deborah & Doug Brown, grandchildren Timothy Coven, Daniel Coven, Derek Brown, Nicholas Brown, and Amanda Kapfhammer, and great grandchildren Cash, Canon, Charlotte, Mollie, Macie, Colter, Rylee and Walker. Harry is also survived by his brothers Terry Coven and Roy Coven.
Services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Friday, June 14 at 10:00 AM. Harry’s reception will be held immediately after at VFW post 5061, located at 5220 W Warren Ave, Denver, 80227.
